How Does Motivosity Reinforce Company Values - Mike Olsen, David Alsop

Transcript:

One of our company values here is team commitment and Motivosity has just been such an awesome tool for us to be able to really solidify that team commitment through inner department communication. As we've been growing it's been new people coming in every single day and those new people might not know too much about values and how they're demonstrated within the company. For me to be committed to other departments that have helped me out I think helps our relationships grow and helpsvus strengthen each other through that kind of communication. It's just been a great experience to have mobility to be able to do that and show that through these shout outs that everybody can read and see. You can make it private if you need to which is nice and if you might feel a little embarrassed that you got helped with a problem. You can make it private and still shout that person out.(Mike Olsen)

It can be a challenge in an organization for people to understand and remember to apply the core values. At Ultradent we have five core values that we focus on that we want people to live and drive their behaviors towards success using those core values. What happens with our core values is in Motivosity people are clicking on a core value to say thank you for applying that core value. The importance for us is being able to drive behaviors by making it so present in their minds and in how they interact and how they appreciate. That one appreciation that happens once a day or once a week is tied to innovation. It's tied to quality, it's tied to hard work in our organization. When someone sees that and sees that they're working hard and someone recognizes that. I myself am the head of HR and I'm on the executive team. I got an appreciation one time from the worker on the production lines that just said 'thank you for being caring to me on the production line' and that motivated me to be more interactive and more connected at the bottom levels of our organization. They notice and they see it so the tool is really a platform that allows you to reinforce your core values. It's not about only the appreciation, it's about the values that you reinforce and the messages you send to people that help them remember 'Oh yeah that's why I live, that that's why I do that' and they want to do it more.
