What’s New in Motivosity: August 2025

Published on
August 20, 2025

We’ve made a handful of thoughtful updates in Motivosity lately to improve fairness, flexibility, and peace of mind for both admins and employees. From Purchase Power Parity to a smarter way to handle tax questions, these enhancements are all about making rewards and recognition even more intuitive. Read on to learn more about Purchase Power Parity, AI Tax Navigator, and a couple other tiny-but-shiny improvements.

Purchase Power Parity

Motivosity now offers Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) to ensure fair and equitable rewards for employees across different countries.

More equitable rewards

The value of points or rewards given through Motivosity is adjusted based on the local cost of living in each employee's location, so that everyone has roughly the same purchasing power.

AI Tax Navigator

The AI Tax Navigator is a smart in-app tax coach (Coach Carl) that demystifies the tax side of reward dollars and gives helpful strategic nudges.

More than a tax chatbot

The AI Tax Navigator is more than just a chatbot, it pulls from a library of verified tax resources that help you understand your program’s tax implications. For example: The AI Tax Navigator asks about your reward type—cash-out, gift card, merchandise, extra PTO, etc.—and your tax jurisdiction (e.g., U.S. federal/state). Then it gives tailored advice, like, “This counts as taxable income; you'll get a 1099 if over $600.”

Pay by Invoice option

Admins may now enable the option to Pay by Invoice in the list of Payment Methods. This option works like other Payment Methods, but funds are not released until the invoice has closed and payment has settled.

More flexible payment options

  • Invoices may be paid using many other forms of payment, including wire transfer, Apple Pay, and more
  • Invoices may be sent to other departments in your organization for fulfillment
  • Invoices are issued in your base currency
